Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect when I arrive for my first float?

After scheduling your first float we recommend arriving approximately 15 minutes early to sign in and get ready for your float. Take a few minutes to relax and unwind in our lounge. We will be here to answer any questions you may have and show you the amenities Before your float we ask that you use the restroom, silence your phone, and remove your jewelry.

During your session, we recommend the use of earplugs that we provide for you to keep the Epsom salt out of your ear canals. We also recommend putting them in dry ears before you shower.

Everyone is required to shower in their float room before and after floating to ensure removal of any product or outside elements on your body. Use the body wash and shampoo before you float. The conditioner can only be used AFTER your float. Please be thorough and make sure that you rinse off well to prevent bath products from getting inside the tank.

After your shower, we recommend patting your face dry with a towel and then entering the float tank. After closing the lid you will gently lay back to find yourself floating effortlessly. Try to avoid touching your face with your wet hands so that you don’t get the salt solution in your eyes. If you do get it on your face, then use a towel to pat dry.

We do offer a neck pillow conveniently placed in each room, if you feel that you need additional support. As you lay there try to relax as much as you can, think of nothing, and focus on your breath. At first it will be hard to let go, but without external stimuli your body will eventually relax to the point where your brain is producing theta waves. You may even fall asleep.

Towards the end of your float you will hear chimes to gently let you know that your float session has ended. The tank light and jets will turn back on to let you know that it is time for a shower. If that doesn’t wake you up then you may hear a knock at the door after 10 minutes or so. We recommend taking a moment to stretch before you get out of the tank to feel all the amazing benefits of your float.

Step out of your float carefully and shut the door of the tank. Step right back into the shower to wash the salt off. Please feel free to use the hair conditioner after your float. After showering, we welcome you to get ready in our vanity room.

We have a primp room available to blow dry your hair and get yourself ready to enter the world again.

You are encouraged to hang around in the relaxation lounge to enjoy a cup of tea and share thoughts or just relax after the experience.

Are there restrictions on those who can float?

Floatation therapy is not recommended for: Epileptics whose epilepsy is not under medical control Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs Individuals with infectious diseases or open skin wounds Individuals with difficulties with bladder and/or bowel control

I can’t swim – will I drown if I fall asleep?

No, the nearly 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt makes the water so buoyant that you float effortlessly. Getting a bit of salt water in your eyes is the worst that can happen.

Will my skin prune up from soaking for so long?

No, but it does become silky soft afterwards.

How should I prepare for my float?

Don’t shave or wax, don’t drink caffeine for several hours beforehand, eat a small meal 1-2 hours prior to your float, use the restroom, remove your contacts, jewelry, and all clothing. We provide towels, robes, and earplugs for your convenience.

Is it sanitary?

Floating is extremely sanitary due to the high concentration of Epsom salts (Magnesium Sulfate), which kill 99% of bacteria. The water in our floatation tanks is passed through a five-micron filter after every float session. Our tank water solution contains 0.02 % hydrogen peroxide, which assists in eliminating any virus, bacteria and fungus. Customers are required to shower before entering the float tank and post float. We take every precaution to provide you with the cleanest, safest and most relaxing experience available.

Additionally, our tanks and float rooms are managed using a strict set of testing protocols. The water is tested for pH balancing, sterilization and temperatures. Our specially designed filters are capable of screening the water down to as little as 1 micron (100th the size of a hair). After each float session the powerful filtration system is automatically activated to ensure our tanks are clean and sterile at all times. The salt brine also flows through UVC pre and post each float session. After floating the Epsom solution automatically goes into a reservoir tank for maximum hygiene.

After each session, the external surface of the tank is wiped down with natural cleaning agents, and the room is reset to an impeccably high standard, ensuring a fresh and clean experience for each and every visit.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide towels, robes, earplugs, shampoo, body wash, conditioner (for post-float only) and a private shower area in each float room. After your float, you can get ready for your day in our “vanity room” equipped with hair dryers and some basic toiletries. You may wish to bring any personal items that you may need, such as a brush, glasses case or contact lens case.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

Individuals with even extreme claustrophobia have reported to have no issues with floating. Many say it feels like floating endlessly in space.

Our float tanks are very spacious and you are always in control of your float experience. You may choose to end your session at any time.

Can I float if I recently dyed my hair?

We advise waiting until the dye has had time to set in fully. If it hasn’t, there’s a chance the float water could bleach it.

Can I float if I’m menstruating?

Yes. Just follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool.

I just got a tattoo, should I float?

No. Not only could floating with a fresh tattoo be painful, but also the water solution could cause fading or discoloration of your tattoo and permanently ruin its aesthetic appeal. We recommend that you wait 6-8 weeks or until your tattoo has fully healed.
